What influence does music have in your life as a creative?:

My musical education started, as i’m sure it does for most people, with my parents. I was brought up on Bowie, The Clash, Bruce Springsteen, Elvis Costello and The Rolling Stones and I still listen to all of them today. I’m lucky to have had parents who opened my ears to such amazing music at such an early age.

These days I can’t not have music on when I’m working. I tend to try and match my music to the work I have to do, or possibly the amount of work I have to do. It’s amazing how fast I can get stuff done if I stick Hello Rockview on. One of the nice things about the design community is being surrounded by fellow music lovers. I’m always on the lookout for new music and I love the fact you can share the music you find with the people around you. Generally all the new music I listen to comes from recommendations by friends or stuff I’ve heard in the studio.

Tell us about your playlist:

In all the studios I’ve worked in it’s been a tradition to go for it with the music on a Friday afternoon. For me it’s not been a successful end to the week if I’ve not listened to Graceland at least once. So I’ve gone with a collection of songs that kind of sum up my Friday listening over the years. To be fair I just wanted an excuse to get Go West on my playlist.
